| At First Baptist Church we believe that each of us is a minister. Much of the work of the church is carried out by our ministry teams. Each team has a team leader and is made up of volunteers, while still relating to a staff member. You'll find that the satisfaction working alongside fellow believers in a ministry that utilizes your gifts and passions will benefit others as well as yourself. Assists the baptismal candidates and pastor with baptismal services.

Assists the pastoral staff in ministering to the material and spiritual welfare of those in need.
Bereavement: Norma Calvert and June Lauf, team leaders
Provides and helps serve a meal for the family on the day of a funeral, offered for any funeral service conducted by FBC staff or at FBC, if not already covered by Bible Teaching class.

Provide practical help for those who need yard work done, help with moving, running errands and need financial advice.

Plans and carries out communications about the church's ministries and programs both within the church and community.

Team of men and women who are interested in planning and promoting a variety of events or processes that encourage loving, healthy families and homes.
Greeting: Pat Perkins, team leader
Help greet people as they come to FBC events and make them feel welcome.
Historical: Joyce Phillips, team leader
Responsible for preserving historical records of FBC. Homebound: Norma Calvert and Nancy Ottinger, team leaders
Provides regular visits and attention to those who can no longer leave their home to come to worship. Hospital Ministries: Ken Chapman, team leader
Provides visits to FBC members who are in the hospital. (Charles and Joan Pool) Hospitality: Lois Reine, team leader
Enjoy entertaining and preparing and serving food for special events at the church.
Library & Media: Jan Steele, team leader
Maintains and provides a variety of books and media equipment for worshipers, giving them easy access to good Christian material. Lord’s Supper: Denny and Lori Hodges, team leaders
Prepares the elements for the Lord's Supper and provides clean-up. A sub-team also provides Lord's Supper to the homebound.

Plans opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth with other men. Missions: Gary Hemphill, team leader
Works with Missions Committee to mobilize and participate in mission endeavors. Prayer: Kay Brejcha, team leader
Focuses on praying for the needs of our congregation, community and world. Recreation
Assists the church staff in planning, carrying out and evaluating FBC’s recreation ministries. Safety & Security: Laurel Dunwoody, team leader Share JC: Mike Longanecker, team leader
Plans and prepares special ways to reach out to the community to introduce them to Christ Jesus.
Sound and Light: Jerry Kemple, team leader
Responsible for training volunteers and carrying out operation of public address system, lighting system, tape duplication and media equipment for worship services and other occasions. Student: Melissa Hatfield, team leader
This team assists the Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions in the planning,implementation, and evaluation of our ministry to youth (grades 7-12).
Sunday Visitation: Mike Allen, team leader
A team who makes a visit to our Sunday morning guests to provide them with more information about our church.
Transportation: Sammie Willhite, team leader
Organizes and carries out church bus service for regularly scheduled church services, and keeps church aware of transportation needs.
Women: Tricia Kellerman, team leader
Plans events for women’s fellowship and spiritual growth.
Community Connectors Habitat for Humanity: Keith McGowan (Interim team leader)
Works with community projects such as building a house and/or working in “Restore" re-sell-it shop and enlists others to help, also. Meals on Wheels: Don and Norma Calvert, team leaders
Deliver meals to homebound individuals in the community once or twice a month.
Samaritan Center: Bill Anthony, team leader
Volunteers provide a variety of services (including food and clothing, legal and tax advice and medical services) at the local Samaritan Center in order to offer these to those in need in our community.
South School Partnership: Beth Schmidt, team leader
Work with children who may need extra time and attention with schoolwork on a weekly basis during the school year, along with other projects to collect supplies and assist the teachers and staff in creative ways.
