Watermelon, worship and a pounding to boot
.jpg)
In August was our annual night where we kicked back, ate watermelon and enjoyed a variety of entertainment. This year we also welcomed new minister Leigh Halverson (and said hello to her mom) with an old-fashion pounding of favorite receipes and the fixin's. At the conclusion, we joined in a time of prayer for Leigh and her ministry to children and families (left).

Congratulations!
"The Frequency," a band made up of several of our youth competing May at the Crossover Christian Music Festival at Camdenton, won first place! They opened for the bands playing on Saturday and later this year will travel to Nashville to compete for a recording contract See News Tribune story.

Ministry moments
Our youth prepared for their July mission trip to Chicago. June 8 with the Summer Youth Dessert Theater, a "tasty" way to showcase their talents that also helped raise $800 towards mission trip expenses. Afterwards, those present gathered in groups around the youth to pray for them.
