Year End Giving and Mission Offering Giving
Year-end contributions are greatly appreciated in helping us meet 2019 ministry expenditures. Click above to give online.
To give in person or by mail and be counted toward our 2019 Ministry Budget and to qualify as charitable deductions for income tax filing, all types of gifts must be received, postmarked, or transferred into an FBCJC account no later than December 31, 2019. (See more detailed information below.) Cash and checks are the most frequent contribution made. However, givers may enjoy increased tax benefits by making other types of gifts.
Two tax-wise contributions to consider are:
- Transferring appreciated investments in-kind to FBC-JC to avoid capital gains tax.
- For those age 70 ½ or older, make Qualified Charitable Distribution from IRA account to reduce taxable income.
Year End Giving Information for 2019
Cash or check contributions to our church must be received before the office closes at noon on December 31, 2019 to be counted as a 2019 donation. If mailed, it must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2019.
Gifts by transfer of securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) must be transferred from the donor’s account to the FBCJC brokerage account no later than December 31, 2019. (Due to the paperwork involved and dependence upon brokerage and mutual fund service providers, it is strongly recommended to initiate these gifts with the donor’s broker or securities representative by December 13, 2019.)
Gifts of “Qualified Charitable Distributions” from IRA accounts for a donor age 70 ½ or older with IRA accounts made directly from the donor’s IRA custodian by custodian’s check to FBCJC, it must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2019. (Again, due to the paperwork involved and dependence upon the IRA Custodian’s processing the gift, it is strongly recommended to initiate these QCD direct transfer gifts by December 9, 2019.)
Global Missions Offering
This year’s Global Missions Offering goal is $7,000. This goal is a special emphasis each December beyond our normal missions and ministries offerings. This offering is given to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Offering for Global Missions. Click above to give online.
