Summer Children’s Gatherings Includes Choose Your Own Adventure VBS

This summer, we will expand our weekly virtual gatherings for FBC children. We will have three weekly age-group meetings: preschool (ages 3 to pre-k), kindergarten through second grade, and third through fifth grade (school year 2019-2020).

Our preschool group meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:30 a.m.

The K-2 group meets Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m.

3-5 grade meetings are Thursdays at 7 p.m.

Your child’s teachers will send a link weekly for their virtual gathering. For most of June, our teachers will use Sparkhouse curriculum to guide their small group meetings.

Choose Your Own Adventure VBS

We will not be able to host in-person Vacation Bible Camp and Sports Crusaders camp this summer. There is not a way for us to make the camp experience safe for children and volunteers. 

Exciting News! The week of June 22nd, we will launch our Choose Your Own Adventure summer VBS. Choose Your Own Adventure is a five-week curriculum written by children’s pastors from five churches, including me. (Registration closed June 7.)

Families who register will receive five weeks of daily Bible stories and activities. Much like a “choose your own ending” novel, children can choose their own activities to do with each Bible story. You may use this material five days a week for your “school” time. You may use this material a couple times a week for fun family activities. The curriculum offers a technology free option as well as options with Bible story and music videos; it allows for parent-led lessons as well as children doing some things independently. In short, there is something for your family in this material!

The material provides great content and options for your family. I understand how helpful it is to have supplies and material easily accessible. This is a great resource for your summer 2020.
