Pastor’s Pen – September 2022

Dear Church, 

The great theologian Clint Eastwood (aka Dirty Harry) once said, “What you put into life is what you get out of it.” This quote is not an original thought to Clint, of course. I’ve heard it said many times in many ways. Yet, it is easy to forget.  

There are seasons in the year more invitational than others. September is one of them. We welcome new rhythms and opportunities in our homes and churches as the school year begins. New opportunities to build relationships, laugh, learn, sing, and serve together. 

September is a great time to engage or reengage with your church family. There are new midweek Bible studies, adult groups, and activities for children and youth. You can join the orchestra or choir or to serve on one of our ministry teams. Maybe give the sport of Pickleball a try each Wednesday. You can read more about these things in this month’s Beacon.  

If you’ve been joining us online for worship during the pandemic, perhaps you’re ready to join us in person. Masks are welcome, and two sections are still marked for every other row seating. 

Our experience with the church deepens the more we engage. Our transformation into the way of Christ grows as we engage in service. We’d love to help you find your next step here. 

“What you put into life is what you get out of it.” There are no guarantees but taking a risk might be worth it. As Clint also said, “If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster.”
