Project Homeless Connect: Donate 9/7, Volunteer 10/18
Jefferson City Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event based on a national service model to reduce as many barriers as possible to help the homeless or near homeless become self-sufficient. This is the 5th year for Project Homeless Connect!
This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, October 18, and was mentioned in the August 2019 Beacon. But there’s also a special donation effort this month.
Saturday, September 7 Donation Day (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
- Look for the Red and White Balloons on Monroe Street!!!
- Here is are donation articles we are seeking:
- New or Clean, Gently-used Clothing (Especially Jackets & Coats)
- New or Gently Used Shoes
- New Adult White Socks (Tube Socks Preferred)
- New Adult Underwear, assorted sizes
- New Washcloths
- Toiletries for care kits (fingernail clippers, razors, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products still needed)
- Bring donations to FBC Fellowship Hall (3rd floor).
- Volunteers are also needed to help sort items that day.

Friday, October 18 Volunteer (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
- Volunteers are needed to register and guide guests to specific service destinations.
- Volunteers are also needed to drive vehicles.

- Sign up online.
- Pick up a volunteer packet at the Welcome Center in the lobby.
